This was...Oh God... The relative peace of a few moments ago was gone forever, and rattling through William's terrified brain came the awful idea that maybe that was the last of it's kind he'd ever live to witness. He'd survived a vicious werewolf attack, hidden for six years from hunters, managed not to anger any clans with his existence... And now, here he was, staring down the muzzle of a gun. It didn't seem fair.
But the sudden thump of Peri hitting the floor, followed by the angry shock of Freya's bullet on the ground nearby, was enough to bring William out of his shock and throw himself to the floor at the same moment.
Gazing blearily around the wrecked restaurant- tables turned, chairs smashed and dining plates scattered like playing cards- Willam couldn't help but give a terrified little giggle at the thought that he'd once planned to spend a peaceful evening here with Peri. The stench of blood that hung in the air made him want to vomit across the courtyard whilst also, to his utter horror and disgust, making his inner wolf quietly sit up and beg, tongue lolling.
Fighting the urge to gag, William crawled as fast as he could to the safety of one of the upturned tables, counting on it's far away positioning and angle to keep him safe for as long as it took to work out an escape route.

Charging forward, Freya prepared to kick at the table Peri was hidden underneath, to suddenly find it thrown into her, hitting her square in the chest and stomach, knocking the girl to the ground. This gave Peri a chance to run full sprint behind the table that Will was hidden behind, yelping as a bullet hit the space where her foot had been a mere second before as she ran, even able to feel the scattering of dust from the ground on her heels.
Crouching beside him, she very quickly reached over and kissed him, whispering "I'm so sorry... I'll " before diving back out, to try and make sure that Freya didn't go for that table, trying to keep Will out of the firing line. Grabbing a glass pitcher of water from the table as she went, she threw it at Freya, who managed to just about dodge it, buying Peri enough time to duck down before the sixth shot was fired, smashing a wine glass on top of the table and knocking over the candle, setting the table cloth alight.
Swearing quietly under her breath, Peri shifted back a little away from the quickly spreading flames, able to hear Freya's footsteps approaching her table, squeezing her eyes shut and trying desperately to think of the spot. Opening them, a sudden idea hit her, and she waited until she saw Freya's feet just visible beneath the hem of the table cloth, and kicked out as hard as she could, hitting the girl square in the ankles, topping her to the ground, shooting as she went, the bullet way off in aim and sailing over the top of the table.
Taking advantage of this, Peri leapt on top of Freya and pinned her to the ground, trying to grab the gun away from her, another shot fired in the struggle, the bullet just grazing Peri's cheek enough to draw blood, causing her to let out a light cry. Gritting her teeth, she pressed down against Freya's struggles, but was caught off guard by a sudden knee to the stomach, the violent strike catching her scars, drawing a strangled scream from her lips, knocking her backwards.
Before she knew it, Freya had straddled her, pressing the barrel of her gun to her temple. Eyes welling with tears at the blind panic that took her over, Peri stared up at Freya, only able to think back to the times that she and Nicole had spent together in their teens... as best friends...
And here she was now, about to die to her hand.
Peri closed her eyes. Freya, seeing that Peri seemed to have willingly accepted her fate, smiled softly, before pulling the trigger.
Peri was deathly still for a moment, a moment more, a full thirty seconds before she opened her eyes, the resounding click that followed not quite the gunshot she'd expected. For a moment, Peri and Freya's eyes met, the mutual realization that Freya's gun was empty causing them both to freeze. Suddenly, red and blue flashing lights cast their shadows on the tables, with uniform clad, armed policemen surrounding the pair, telling Freya to put her hands in the air.
Freya sucked in her breath, slowly rising to her feet, raising her hands into the air, allowing the policemen to approach her. Peri followed, eyeing the odd look on her face, before quickly skirting around her and moving over to Will.
"We need to get out of here... now." She muttered urgently, not convinced that Freya was just going to allow herself to be arrested so lightly.

Hearing the shots and thumps and cries from beyond his wooden barrier was enough to send William curling up into a little ball, the shame and fear of his own cowardice at odds with the hard blush that had crept up at Peri's sudden, panic-stricken kiss.
He wanted to stand, to get up and fight, to save Peri from the bullets that pounded again and again and again on the cold stone and splintered wood of the courtyard. But no matter how hard he tried, no matter how much the image of the dreaded stag replayed over and over in his mind, William couldn't bring himself to move. If anything happened to her...
He squeezed his eyes tightly, even as silence reigned through the restaurant, not even looking up at the sounds of sirens and heavy police footsteps. So wrapped up was he in his little world, that the light touch of a hand on his shoulder was enough to make him jump back with a small, terrified little scream.
"OhGodpleasedon'thurtme-"
He managed to whimper before finally focusing on the figure in front of him.
"...P-Peri?"

Knowing that they didn't have any time to hesitate, Peri grabbed Will's hand and ran for the doors back into the restaurant, prepared to drag him along if need be. The police would all be too busy trying to deal with Freya to come after them, even though they'd probably want to interview them as witnesses... But they couldn't afford to hang around, not now.
Once the two were out onto the street outside Hanul lui Manuc, Peri hailed for a taxi, relieved to find one in the taxi bay close to the restaurant free, suddenly realizing her cheek was bleeding as she moved down towards it, wiping it impatiently on the back of her hand, before climbing in and pulling Will after her, telling the driver simply "Eden Town, Royal Apartment Complex." before the taxi sped off, and not a moment too soon.
Just as Peri and Will had left Hanul lui Manuc, Freya had set about making short work of the police trying to apprehend her. Elbowing the closest one in the stomach, she pulled him round and used him as a human shield as the one to her left shot at her, pushing the man forward into another to knock him off balance, before kicking the gun out of another's hand and grabbing it, shooting the remaining two to the ground.
Removing the clips from each man's gun, she shoved it into her handbag, cursing as she realized Peri had gotten away, running out to the front of the restaurant. Panting a little, Nicole took this opportunity to pull control back, instantly collapsing to the ground and vomiting, tears pricking at her eyes as she thought of the innocent souls she had just killed.
Her thoughts drifting to Peridot, she straightened up, beginning an unsteady jog away from the crime scene she had just created, tears now beginning to stream down her cheeks. How was she alive... It had been so long. What had happened back there... and why had Freya tried to kill her?
What on earth was going on... [/blockquote]
