After the initial awkwardness of the notion, Peri found that the hug felt almost natural, so relaxed and safe in the embrace, a feeling that she had never felt before. She smiled fondly as he said he cared about her too, a soft, lingering smile, pulling back slightly as he began to speak but faltered, tipping her head to one side, peering at him.
"What is it, Will?" She asked, curious to know what was on his mind. She had been honest with him, after all, so she expected the same from him. Her hands remained on his shoulders, crouched a little to meet his eyes.

"T-think I lo...L-l-lov...."
He trailed off before his sentence could become an inarticulate mess of stammering noises, his face a picture of bright red embarrassment as he gazed across at Peri. Why could he never...Say anything correctly?
"...s-sorry"
He looked down again, deciding that the best way to avoid making a further fool of himself would be to keep his traitorous mouth tightly shut for the remainder of his visit. Maybe one day he'd be able to say that wretched line properly, and with the eloquence that Peri deserved to hear it in.
Hopefully his admittance of wanting to protect her would be enough to show...

He thought he lo... he lov...
After a couple of seconds of thought, a sudden, loud squeak erupted from Peri's lips, eyes widening, frozen with shock as she put two and two together, equalling in a statement that she never thought she'd ever hear from William's lips.
He... loved... her?
He couldn't be serious. He couldn't be... But what if she was? What could she say? How did she feel? How did she... feel.
Eventually exhaling softly, she gaze down at Will, watching his bright blush, awkward, nervous demeanour, and yet underneath it all was a man with pure intentions, a man who would do almost anything for her. A man who she had been honest with, who she had found herself so relaxed with, someone she could have fun with an yet he would never judge her. He was... like her.
And here she was, wondering if she returned his feelings?
Still somewhat stuck for words, she decided to simply follow her heart, leaning in and gently pressing her lips to his, hoping that the action would speak as loudly as any words could, and make her feelings heard.

Even as he leaned up to enable himself to kiss her better, William couldn't help but feel his own thoughts mutter back to himself;
Here you go again...
Soft and gently chiding; Not that he really cared. His heart was soaring and fluttering in his chest. This felt more than a drunken snog, born of clouded minds and childish excitement.. more than a quick kiss of confusion and comfort after hasty words... This meant...Well he hoped it meant... Of course it meant-
Gently he drew his head back to take in air, smiling widely across at Peri as he did so. Suddenly a thought struck him, causing him to move his hands up to support her arms in a firmer grip, gently but firmly trying to move her round to sit back down on the sofa cushions.
"C-careful- you're still not...The Doctor w-wouldn't thank me if you hurt yourself again"

Having drawn back as well, not intending the kiss to be any more than a loving display of affection - as opposed to the rather more adult kisses they had shared in the past few days - Peri was caught off guard by his sudden flurry of concern, allowing herself to be manoeuvred back onto the sofa, rubbing absent mindedly at her stomach, not willing to admit that the position had caused rather a few twinges of pain in her new scars.
"I suppose you're right... I'm fine though... you don't need to worry so much." She squared her shoulders, trying to act as if she were at the peak of health and fitness, more for her own sake than his. Relaxing back into the pillows, she couldn't help but smile, the tiny smirk growing into a large grin as she thought back over what he had almost stammered. She almost wanted to get up and dance... well, if that wouldn't have been rather an odd thing to do, not to mention extremely painful in her current state.
"What... what you were saying, before..." She started, then quickly stopped, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly. She needed to address this... Well, at least, she thought she did. Taking in a deep breath, she tried to calm herself, knowing that this was the sort of situation that required the uttermost delicate care and precision.
"I'm not sure what you meant, but I think I know, and if that is the case then I... I feel the same way, but if you didn't mean that then, I don't know, I'm sorry, a-ah..."
'Delicate care and precision'. Really, Peri... That could have gone better. but at least she'd gotten it out there... sort of.

William chuckled as he made sure that Peri was going to stay seated before plonking himself carefully down beside her, Joking lightly as the euphoria from the kiss still lifted his mind.
"I-if not me, then who else would b-be allowed to nag you every day?"
His smile faded somewhat as she continued, noting the unusual awkward edge that had crept into Peri's voice as she spoke. He reached out and gently touched her arm when she paused, trying to make it understood that...Well...how could one be nervous in front of someone as inherently awkward as himself?
Watching the smile grow into a grin across her face, William felt himself relax some, but found himself freezing again, withdrawing his hand as she finally continued.
"I-I....I...heh...h-ha..."
To his surprise and horror, William found himself bursting into laughter as Peri's hesitant reply sank in. A slight chuckle that built up into a happy little howl of laughter, culminating into another round, tight side hug, careful to avoid Peri's injured belly.

Initially surprised by his laughter, Peri stared at him for a moment, before her strange mixture of nervous joy of the whole situation sent her into almost relieved giggles as well, sinking into the embrace, finding it relaxing.
"That's true... I guess I'll allow your nagging, but feel honoured, you're the only person I'll give that job to." She grinned, gently resting her head on his shoulder, her fingers absent mindedly and gently kneading at his arm, like the actions of a comfortable, relaxed cat.
Perhaps it didn't matter that neither of them could quite come out and say what was playing on their minds just yet, they seemed to have a mutual understanding, and that was all that mattered, wasn't it?

William grinned, enjoying the warm, comforting weight of Peri's head on his shoulder, her dark hair tickling the side of his face. "I-I shall remember that..."
He sat in silence for a few moments, listening to their breathing and the slight, faraway sounds of traffic outside of the apartment. After a short while of this, a small thought began to weave it's way through his head. Growing in power and strength, it muttered that neither of them wanted to think of the disaster in the woods as their first and proper date- and William (it continued) did not want the first thing Peri remembered when she thought about them, to be the searing pain of a Deer's antlers striking her side.
So, it finished, why not try again? Simple and formal- the way William was more comfortable and confident with- safely human; Let Peri see the gentleman he hoped was still inside there somewhere.
"P-Peri..."
He started hesitantly, the idea still kicking quietly at his mind.
"W-Would you...Would you like t-to have dinner with me? Bucharest h-has some wonderful l-looking restaurants..."

As he spoke her name, she withdrew, gazing at him curiously, before smiling - if not slightly surprised - at his query, blushing lightly. A date? It had been rather a long time since the young woman had last gone on a formal date... Especially not with someone she liked as much as Will.
She liked the idea... She really liked it. Besides, her stomach injury meant that she couldn't get into too much trouble, surely?
"That... that sounds wonderful, Will." She smiled at him, softly and fondly, now trying to stretch out her vague knowledge of Bucharest, trying to think of restaurants.
"Did you have a place in mind?"

A happy little blush settled across William's cheeks and reddened his ears as Peri announced her agreement to his plan; he made a silent promise to himself there and then that he would make certain to give Peri the best night he could find for her. So far, he feared, she had only seen the animalistic, wolf side of the little man. And that wouldn't do at all.
"W-well I...I-I did see a place...a-a few days ago"
He decided not to mention that this was during his attempt to track down and join a pack.
"T-The...Hanul Lui Manuc?"
He tried, pronouncing the name slowly and carefully, hoping that he'd done it correctly, and that it didn't sound at odds with his still-noticeable accent. But the place had looked perfect- old and worn and beautiful- and even from the first moment he had laid eyes on it, William had harbored fantasies of taking Peri there to dine. And now...Maybe...He would do just that.
