Seth aimed to stop Scarlet from going after Luschka, but stopped with his hand in the air and pulled it back. He glared at the dead werewolf on the ground, speaking through gritted teeth. “I’m not killing you because you just saved a human’s life. Even the Amos family has guidelines, but it doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore you.” The Amos family didn’t spare werewolves, but it wouldn’t be the first time a human was saved by a werewolf. It just meant that their eradication was postponed. He also knew that if he lashed out at her right now, he would regret it painfully in the future.
He felt betrayed. He remembered her questions on what he was doing, and how she pressed to join him on his scouting. She had wanted to keep him from her pack. What better way to protect a pack then to keep tabs on the hunters? He couldn’t figure out the rest, even if her words had been truthful. They were truths buried deep within a lie. She was a manipulator, and he’d been just a chew toy.
If his uncle were here, he’d be laughing at him. That’s what he gets for trying to form a relationship. The Amos weren’t fit for normal relationships, and now it was clear to him why. His parents were probably rolling in their graves, mourning for their son. He’d fallen for his greatest enemy, and he didn’t even know it. The weight on his chest grew even heavier, and he felt that rage begin to build up.
Now his hunts were personal.

Luschka smiled weakly at the girl. It would have been bigger and happier, but she had just lost the love of her life. She placed her hand on the back of her neck, brought it back around so she could look at it. She winced. It was bright red and there was a lot. Lu didn't really like blood. Looking back to the girl, she spoke softly. Thank you. I really appreciate it. When Seth spoke she felt a sharp pain in her chest as if someone had stabbed her straight through the chest. She wished she was the one who had died instead of the other werewolf. A tear slid down her cheek slowly, solumnly, painfully.
Lu was all too aware of the scent of fury eminating from Seth. More tears came. Why the hell did she have to be born a werewolf?! Still looking at him, she took a small--very small--step toward him and held her hand out, palms up. I'm so sorry Seth. There are no words to describe how sorry I am! I should have never approached you that day in the Bandstand. That was a big mistake. But, for some strange reason, I don't regret it. I never lied to you Seth. When I said I loved you, I meant it. I still do. She stood there, before him, wanting nothing more than to be in his arms. To be forgiven. But wishes are only granted in fairy tales....or are they? How can one say for sure?

Scarlet watched the two talk. Watched out Luschka seemed to just break in tears because of the one named Seth. Blinking, Scarlet realized, the werewolf girl loved the hunter in front of her and now..it had shattered. Moving to Lu's side, Scarlet put her hand on her hip and locked her little eyes on Seth. "From what I see, she is telling the truth. To hunter to hunter, I see what is going through your mind. What you are thinking and how you plan to do it. But from a human to human, you have feelings." she said, her voice loud and calm. Even though she was a werewolf hunter, Scarlet wasn't going to let this girl cry over a male that can't take a few betrayal scars like a man.
Glancing over at Lu, Scarlet let a slow smile form on her lips before her attention went back to Seth. "I wouldn't believe in love. Especially for a werewolf, but I do now and right now, I won't let you ruin it for her." she said, turning to Lu and putting a hand on her shoulder, Scarlet's eyes filled with sorrow and regret for being attacked...and unarmed like she had been.

His gaze turned to the woman and he shook his head. Ruin love? She knew who he was, and what he stood for. She could have just ignored him like she said. His entire world was now upside down, and he apparently was the creator of havoc while everyone else was a victim. "Don't couple me with other hunters. Of course I have feelings." What sort of statement was that? His feelings were turning into a painful weight in his chest, and there was rage running through his veins.
He had been carved since birth to kill werewolves. There was no quitting, no matter what. It was carved into the tattoo in the back of his neck, right in the center along his spine. It signified he was a werewolf killer, body and mind. He didn't know how to do anything else, or be anything else. If his uncle, or other relatives learned of this he would become the hunted. There was no hiding when an Amos was coming for revenge for their own; even if it's themselves.
Love? He felt bitter towards that word. He had never told Lushcka that he loved her, but that he was going to try. He really had been too, to try to understand an emotion that had been snuffed out long ago. Loving something didn't mean everything will just fall into place like you wanted. "She shouldn't love me anyways!" He pulled the knife he had been fingering, and threw it. He was a famous werewolf hunter for a reason, and even with a wound on his side he still moved with the speed and ease of an assassin.
It wizzed past Luschka's head, the wind from it causing her hair to move before sinking into the wall behind her. It would be better if she hated him. That would make things better for him. "I would and can kill a person if I feel that the ends justifies the means. I've lost count of how many werewolves I've killed, and if you're a beta, you're endangering your pack and breaking every instinct within your body."

Luschka winced a little when Scarlet pulled her close. It hurt to move. It hurt to live. She was thankful for this girl though. She was helping her by understanding. When the girl spoke to Seth she listened appreciatively but when his expression hardened a little she couldn't help another tear from falling. Then when the girl finished speaking, Seth spoke. He said he had feelings--of course Lu knew that--but he also shouted that she shouldn't love him. Then he threw the knife. She didn't flinch. Actually, she wished it had went straight through her head so that she could be dead. She looked back at the knife that had went into the wall instead of her head. Why had he done that?
Then he spoke again. He spoke about how she was most likely breaking every instinct in her body. And that was true. Except for one. The one instinct that has won over all the others for millions of years. Love. Being with the person you love has always been essential to all animals (including humans). She nodded slowly. He was right. She was. But she didn't care. Seth, you're right. I've risked everything I have or have ever had to be with you. I'm violating every single instinct of mine including self preservation, protection of the pack, hating werewolf hunters--let alone sleeping with one, and especially killing one of my own kind to save a werewolf hunter because now, it's hard to say which species I'm loyal to. Do you see how confused I am?! You're the only the only thing in my life that I'm sure about....please, Seth. Don't leave me.

Scarlet watched the two talk, unsure of what to say. How to help them out but Scarlet hadn't fallen in love with anyone. So how could she help? "Give her a chance to explain, Seth. I wouldn't know what it's like to love someone, but she seems like she really does love you. Not many werewolves would risk everything for someone." she said, putting her hands on her hips, watching Seth closely. Even if he was a hunter, this girl had saved her life and now she was in debt with her, so if Seth decided to attack. Scarlet would be ready.

“Explain? What is there left to explain? I can fully understand what is going on.” He shook his head, the weight in his chest slowly turning into rage. He knew if it continued at this rate, he would lash out in anger. He wouldn’t hesitate to kill both of them, and it wasn’t something he should do. An injured werewolf that had a saved a hunter, and an unarmed hunter wouldn’t sit well with him, even if this wasn’t so personal. She was confused, and he was too. He wasn’t sure what it was that he wanted to do. He knew what he was supposed to do, but there was something holding him back. It infuriated him, and these two women weren’t making it any clearer. He needed to be alone, to stop and actually think. All his life he simply needed to act. Emotions had been snuffed out, and he’d never felt affection for anything or anybody besides his family. Now he was supposed to make a decision like this. It was only a few minutes ago that everything felt fine, and suddenly he was angry and hurt. There. Right there. This hurt. More than any wound he had ever received, and he didn’t like it. “…Just…leave me alone for a while.” His face softened for a moment, showing the pain he was feeling before hardening again. “Quit wasting time and get yourself stitched.

Luschka frowned and reflexively her hand raised as if to touch his face, but he was so far away. This distance hurt. Not just emotionally or mentally, but physically as well. It hurt to be so close to him, yet so far away. Her bottom lip quivered just the slightest bit as she held back all the tears. She knew they made him feel uncomfortable, and she would still do anything for him. Lu remained quiet, though she wanted to scream and cry and basically just die, but she kept herself under control. She needed to. He needed time, and that she would give him. She brought her arm back to her side and mentally glued it to her side.
Lu nodded and crossed one arm over her chest to hold on to the other. I understand. When his face had softened, it showed his true feelings. He wasn't feeling indifferent, or in denial, or even like he wanted to kill her like she had thought. He was just as confused and upset as her. She could only imagine how difficult this must be for him. Even though she was going through some really difficult times, he was probably going through worse. Seth must feel lost. Extremely confused. Incredibly annoyed too. He had been killing werewolves his whole life and he had just realized that he was...or maybe had been...in a relationship with one. A pretty serious one, too. In the beginning Lu had felt just as crazed, but then she realized that this was meant to happen. She couldn't keep it from happening. They were destined. Fated. But things are never perfect and wishes only come true in fairy tales.
