William started to speak but then stopped, obviously thinking about what he would say first. Michelle kept walking, emerald eyes taking in the unique beauty that could be seen in the little town. A smile graced her lips and the wind tugged with jealousy at her long auburn hair. She looked at her shoes for a moment but her eyes lifted to William as he spoke about his university years and having traveled here and just fallen inlove with the place. She had to admit that she could believe that story because even now she was starting to love the little quaint town that was so much different from the big city she had come from. He chuckled and her eyes glittered as she gazed at him for a moment longer as he spoke about not being able to leave,
“I know the feeling…”
She spoke so softly that she wondered if he’d heard her, but instead he asked her about her own story. She smiled politely and returned her gaze to the path before her,
“Well I came from New York, I know it’s quite far but it still doesn’t feel far enough…”
She paused for a moment and continued in a stronger voice,
“I came here looking for a new beginning I guess.”

William nodded sympathetically as Michelle explained just how far she had traveled to reach Romania- he certainly knew how that felt; England might not be as far away as New York was for the woman, but it seemed it some days. Feeling a little burst of an almost companionship feeling towards her, William shoved his hands in his pockets and stepped a little closer. Peri was American, wasn't she? Maybe the two could be friends- it was never a pleasant experience arriving in a new country like this...With a whole new language and culture to learn.
He smiled lightly at her next question, again remembering the feeling well, but doubted it was for the same reason that Michelle wanted it.
"W-well...Heh...Y-you'll certainly f-find that here..."

Michelle smiled somewhat as William seemed to lighten up. He didn’t look as nervous any longer as he thrust his hands into his pocket and walked a little closer to the auburn haired girl. Michelle felt somewhat drawn to William, not in any affectionate way since they had only met, but it seemed he knew how she felt. It sounded as if he had gone through the same things she had and this she could guess by his demeanor alone. She smiled as he spoke about her definitely finding a new beginning here and she wondered what exactly he meant. Kicking at a rock in the road she turned her head to him,
“What do you mean about definitely finding a new beginning, William?”
She paused for a moment and spoke again,
“And if I am not too blunt, why did you come searching for a new beginning?”

William blinked at the question, his mind quickly scrabbling to put together an unsuspect answer, cursing any slip of the tongue. one small part of him realising that this was the first time someone had called him William, rather than Will or (God forbid) 'Willie'. Not that he minded. But it was...Different.
"O-Oh...I-I erm...well. I-it's a new country...A-A new way of life...A-and as you said; Romania i-is hardly New York"
He blushed slightly at how flustered at must have sounded. Hardly a smooth way of addressing a question such as that. His blush reddened at Michelle's next question. Telling her that a new beginning had struck him as a good idea once he'd form himself turning into a furry, snarling animal every full moon, was something that he would certainly not be doing...
"W-well I...wanted to get away, you know? S-see the sights...E-England was s-starting to grow rather dull f-for me..."
He trailed off and smiled, rather unconvincingly, his hands slipping out of his pockets to nervously readjust his crumpled tie.

William seemed slightly taken aback b her question as he blinked and Michelle wondered if it had been smart to ask such a personal question. He stuttered heavily over his words and Michelle wondered why he sounded so unsure, more than usual that was. He blushed, probably because of how flustered he sounded and this only made Michelle even more curious. No doubt he wasn’t telling her everything but she let go of it, sure that she was making him feel uncomfortable. He then proceeded to tell her that he had basically come from England and Michelle smiled,
“I always thought England to be a beautiful place, not that I have ever been there before, but still…”
She noticed how nervously he straightened his tie and sought out a different question to ease his nerves,
“So how long have you lived here?”

Glancing at the floor for a moment after Michelle's statement, William smiled slightly, his eyes clouded momentarily by a small sense of nostalgia.
"O-oh...It certainly is..."
He blinked and shook his head to clear it as the woman asked her next question. Ah, now here was a question he could answer without sounding suspect or too flustered.
"Ah, j-just over s-six years now- since I t-turned 20. S-so one could say I-I know the place rather w-well..."
He answered, figuring that would be enough to explain the accent and partly clipped Romanian. Neglecting to mention that a good chunk of those years had partly been spent up in the forests.

The moment seemed so nostalgic as she glanced over at William. His words even sounded dreamy and for a moment Michelle thought that he missed his home country. He blinked and shook the memory from his mind though to answer Michelle’s next question. He answered more easily than before and Michelle breathed a breath of relief. He’d been here six years now and he mentioned that he knew the place quite well. She smiled back at him, emerald eyes gazing into his own for the first time,
“So what would you say is the best part about living here?”

"T-the best part?"
William glanced around the street. Although only nearing 8 eight o'clock, the only life around and sounds seemed to come from a few slow moving cars that trundled past them every few minutes, along with a small number of pedestrians that passed them on the pavement. The rest...was peaceful.
"I-I like the silence myself. A-Although I know i-it's not everyone's cup of tea..."
He slowed just a little as they started to walk through the less densely populated part of Eden town. Here the road passed near to the woodland, and William could just about pick up the sights and smells of small furry creatures, scampering through the trees.
"B-But, I suppose, i-if people want a n-night life, then they go t-to Bucharest. I-I like the peace..."

Michelle Williams Michelle was still talking with her newfound friend when suddenly the bush beside her ruffled and she stopped in her tracks. She didn’t even catch the last words he said as her heart started to pound in her ears,
“What was that?”
Suddenly it was silent again, but Michelle was too stubborn to stand back and stood staring at the bush defiantly and wondered if William knew who or what it was. She looked over her shoulder for a moment, taking her eyes off of the bush when suddenly a big mountain lion leapt from the bush, paws outstretched as he aimed to attack Michelle…

William's ears pricked up as the leaves around them rustled the first time. A strange, unfamiliar scent just noticeable amongst the mold and earth. A predator, certainly, but he was unsure if this meant threat to him as a human...Or threat to him as a werewolf... Nevertheless, he felt his teeth sharpen in frightened anticipation.
"I-I don't kn-"
Without warning the mountain lion sprung from the foliage, leaping at Michelle with clear and utter intent in it's eyes. William gave a sharp, shrill yelp of fear, the shock of the sudden attack unbalancing him and causing him to fall backwards onto the pavement. A terrified flashback of Peri and the stag swept into his mind as he tried to call out.
"M-Michelle!"

Within moments the lion had Michelle pinned to the ground and she screamed. His claws dug into the delicate skin of her side ribs and her eyes searched for William, fear evident in her eyes. The lion roared and scratched at her as she tried to get it off of her. It missed her face by mere inches and she screamed again. Suddenly it lunged for her throat and everything suddenly became silent…

Watching in terror as the lion pinned the woman to the ground, William found himself again flashing back to the awful incident with the stag, watching as it's horns tore into the other wolf, and being unable...maybe even unwilling...to throw himself forward and help in time.
...But he'd promised himself he'd be braver. Promised he wouldn't let himself stand and watch someone get hurt again. Heck, that was why he'd joined a pack! Struggling to his feet, acutely aware that his trousers now had a nice long rip down them, and telling himself over and over again that his new stupidity was going to get him killed, William gave one last little whine of fear before launching himself forward.
Teeth lengthened and sharpened, fingernails strengthening into claws, his jaw jutting out into a muzzle. It was a strange, grotesque mix of man and wolf that finally hit the mountain lion with a hard swipe to the head
A few moments before the red mist set in, and the wolf took over, William had just enough time to realise how much trouble he was about to be in.

In terror Michelle watched as the lion's fangs came closer and closer. She wasn't strong enough to stop it and tears began to blur her vision. She didn't know what to do anymore and she had never been this afraid in her life. Shutting her eyes forcefully she blocked with her arm and felt the warm slice of teeth cut into her flesh just before something removed the beast from her. Suddenly opening her eyes she looked around her and saw a massive wolf battling with the lion but William was nowhere to be found. She saw a nearby tree and quickly scurried up into it, making sure to climb high enough where the heavy lion wouldn't be able to go. She cupped her hands around her mouth and called,
"William, where are you?!"
She dearly hoped he was okay...
