Physical Description: Stephen is described to be the ultimate looker. He is said to be very gorgeous, 'inhumanely' beautiful with God-like facial features. Stephen is quite tall but not overly so. He has brown hair that’s medium length and styled up most of the time. He has a very casual sense of style and loves wearing jeans and t-shirtsStephen has the classic romance novel look; dreamy and mystical in appearance and he has a strong, compelling aura. He is described as being very classically handsome with very fine facial features and bone structure (including his high cheekbones and square, masculine jaw line) and has green eyes, like Michelle. He is a good guy and has this enchanting aura about him.
Stephen has piercing, forest green eyes which are perfectly set; the coloring of them is often said to be comparable to that of oak tree leaves on a summer day, holly green leaves, malachite and emeralds. Stephen has a slim, lean, lithe and flat muscled physique with ideally broad shoulders and long legs. He has a classical straight nose, high cheekbones and perfect, beautifully shaped lips and mouth. He is quite muscular as well, just to the perfect degree. Stephen has a rose tattoo on his right shoulder.
Personality: Stephen is kind, compassionate, kind hearted and caring. He is the complete and total opposite of his amoral, malevolent elder brother, Damon. Stephen is described as being mysterious and intense but also to be rather sensitive at the same time. Stephen is a tragic, romantic hero. He is a deep, intense romantic at heart. He has been described as a gentleman and a classic romantic. At first meeting he intensely and passionately draws many characters towards him, because he is deeply interesting, exotic, mysterious, deep and immensely challenging. Furthermore Stephen is shy.
Stephen is described as mysterious, inscrutable, elusive, reclusive, brooding, angsty, and sometimes said to be cynical and quite stubborn. Stephen has a strong belief in justice. He has a deep and moral conscience and believes in respecting humanity. Because of this, Stephen is frequently seen throughout the course of the series to be very compassionate and helpful towards mankind, and he is a true humanitarian at heart and by nature.
History: Born as the youngest child and the last child before his mother’s death, Stephen has always been spoiled rotten by their father. Stephen’s mother died an early death soon after giving birth to him. By that time Michelle had just turned one and Damon had been young as well. After his mother's death his father became addicted to alcohol and constantly fought with his older brother, Damon and treated their sister very indifferently. None of the siblings ever seemed to connect with one another since both his brother and sister was angry at him for being the cause of their mother’s death and also because Stephen was spoiled so much by their father. Damon constantly lived in his youngest brother's shadow just like Michelle did and Stephen hated it but there was nothing he could do about it. He never really had anyone to speak to because his father didn’t allow him to have any friends from school. As time passed Damon and his father's arguments intensified and often ended with brutal fights. Stephen got in Harvard and with him no longer at home; his father detached himself from all of his children except Stefan who was all that remained of their mother. He kept in touch with him through letters and calls.
His father seemed to care less about anything anymore now that his wife was deceased but he never stopped to consider what her death had done to his own children as well. He became very selfish and drowned himself in alcohol every night, trying to forget his sorrows while his children struggled equally as hard to accept the past. Stephen no longer seemed to take his pain away and yet again one night Damon and their father was in a fist fight. Stephen usually hid away when these things happened and waited for the quiet after the storm. Soon enough it came along with the morning only to find Giuseppe dead on the floor where Damon had left him. Damon was also nowhere to be found as well as Michelle. Stephen inherited his father’s riches but from the time he was nineteen he had to fend for himself alone in their huge mansion. He hired a detective to help him look for his siblings and now, two years later he has located them in a little place called Eden Town.
