Thank god, he was still there. Eying the doorway, admittedly, but... no matter, he was there, and that was what counted. Taking a seat on the sofa, she took a deep breath, trying not to focus on the wreckage of the living room, and the memories it held.
"You might want to sit down."
Her revelation shouldn't have really come as a shock, but in all honesty, Peri had never outright told another person that she was a werewolf, even if she'd known they were too. She felt it was a secret best kept to herself. And now, here she was, sharing it with... him. A person she found so confusing and painful to think about, and yet she had to fight to keep him from her mind. Ridiculous, really.
Okay. You can do this. Deep breath. One... two... three.
"I'MAWEREWOLF."
Eyes squeezed shut and trembling slightly, she managed to say the sentence so fast that it merged into one long high pitched word, a ridiculously embarrassed looking Peri now seeming like she very well wanted to shoot herself. This was so much more trouble than it was worth. But damn it all, she'd started now, so she'd have to finish.
"I... I am... I am a werewolf. Just like you."

William sat himself gingerly down in the armchair, using his rather wonky shirt buttons as an excuse not to have to look directly at Peri as she stood before him. Wherever this was going, whatever she was about to say, or comfort, or maybe even- Despite his resolve to look anywhere but, he looked up sharply at her first admittance; he couldn't help himself, had she really just said...
And then again...And the truth slowly dawned on him, a slow miraculous understanding... with his brain giving him one last kick into realization. Peri, sat before him, beautiful even in her dressing gown and disheveled hair... Was a werewolf... Like him... A werewolf...
For a few moments it felt as if his brain had shut down. Oh, he knew of werewolves living in Eden town, heck, that was why he had dragged himself over here once he... But to have one living right next door to him... To have done...That...
It was...Actually rather amusing...so said William's hung over, aching brain. He slumped weakly. "heh...y-you...d-don't say...

"Heh...y-you...d-don't say..."
Seriously. That was all he had to say? Not that Peri knew from any kind of experience, but she'd always imagined the appropriate reaction for this kind of revelation to be more along the 'Oh my God, holy crap' kind of lines, not the... 'Oh, that's nice, guess what I got at the store earlier' kind.
Then again, he did look pretty stunned. Now slumping a little in his seat, possibly from the hangover, possibly from the news she'd dropped on him, he did look pretty... drained. Looking pretty shaken and embarrassed herself, she rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly, staring hard at the floor.
"Well...? What do you think? You can't just be so... nonchalant about it..."
That much was true, honestly, it was making her a little bit nervous.

At least it made sense now, William realized, the scent of Peri; the smell of moss and leaves and fresh green forest mold. A scent that was familiar too him simply because...Well...She was a werewolf. She was like him! The relief coming off of William in waves was almost tangible. So that would mean...She would understand the gouge marks in the wall...The sharp nails ripping her tights...everything...
What did he think? He thought it was rather marvelous, to be frank; A small thread of relief in the little ball of terror rolling in his gut. But the tone in her voice defiantly annoyed, and William felt himself start to blush again. He wasn't good with annoyed.
"S-sorry...heh...I-I mean it's hardly...A-and we've lived next to e-eachother...a-all this time...I-I mean..."

Hmmm... well, he seemed happy enough. Upon further inspection, happy didn't even seem the word for it, for the first time all morning, he actually seemed to be... smiling, a little. His eyes were lit up, well, as much as they could be in a person with a handover, and she noticed his body temperature rise, meaning his heart was beating faster... the perks to being a werewolf, you got some pretty impressive senses.
She allowed herself to relax, figuring that at least it had gone better than she'd hoped. The atmosphere had definitely relaxed, that was for sure... but still lingered the awkward subject of the previous night's other activities, aside from, of course, ripping a small chunk out of her wall. Damn... he must have really gotten into it when they were-
Not the time to be thinking about that, Peri, not the time.
Even so, she still couldn't quite help herself.
"...so you're not... mad about last night?"
She queried in a small voice, hoping that perhaps he didn't quite remember it all. Flashbacks were still coming to her at regular intervals, and she was beginning to see the whole picture, from start to end. As hard as it was for her to believe, it seemed like it had been a pretty good night... with some, ahem... particularly good... parts.
She just prayed that he didn't ask how he'd gotten tipsy enough to agree to drink in the first place..

Mad about last night? ...Was he? To be honest with himself, even if he tried to concentrate extremely hard on last night events...A good half of it seemed to turn up...well, a blank... He remembered losing his keys well enough, and Peri kindly inviting him in and offering...What was it? Herbal tea? And then there had been something about...cards? Well, that would explain the full pack of cards spread around the carpet under their feet... But after that... William felt his face redden even deeper as he looked down and started fiddling with his shirt cuffs, shamefaced.
Who knew what he had done, but he had gouged a chunk out of her wall and that seemed...enough in itself...
"I-I am...s-so sorry...a-about last night"
He murmured meekly

Head snapping up as he spoke, a look of complete and utter confusion bloomed on Peri's face, genuinely baffled as to why he'd have anything to be sorry for about last night.
She'd spiked his, she'd made the advances. Hell, she'd even pretty much stripped in front of him. And yet, the poor, sweet silly thing was saying sorry?
"What......what on earth do you have to be sorry for?" She asked, in absolute confusion. I suppose there was the situation with the wall, but she supposed accidents like that came part and parcel with being a werewolf. Not to mention, she'd already said that was fine... Perhaps he couldn't remember her misbehaving?

He winced, still staring hard at his cuffs. She didn't...But surely it was obvious? Glancing around the apartment again, William felt another guilty twinge. He hadn't changed in a while, he knew he hadn't. There simply hadn't been time and, to be honest he had started putting it off. And one of the most terrifying aspects of being a Werewolf was that when one didn't change then the wolf started to find ways to...Come out on it's own. William was starting to recall the shot glasses scattered across the living room, and that explained the raging headache, but before that? And after? He scratched at his shoulder absentmindedly and shifted in his seat, hoping that a quick motion around the room would be enough to make Peri understand. She was a werewolf too, after all.

Following his gaze around the room, Peri frowned a little, still trying to piece everything together in chronological order. Guilt was still more than perfectly apparent on his face, a guilt she knew she probably wouldn't be able to shift, since it was more of a crisis of conscience, than a simple case of 'I got you drunk, sue me.'
Honestly, they'd both behaved a little inappropriately. Peri, of course, had already been drunk upon returning home, but that didn't quite explain the raw, animalistic urges that had taken her over, more and more over the course of the evening. Whether she was going to admit it or not, she had let the wolf within her control her that evening, amplifying her already voracious personality...
Thinking about it, she hadn't changed in a while either. She really was trying to live too much of a human life, thinking that she could suppress it, as well as all the emotions, all the memories with alcohol, and that eventually everything would be fine. But even now, with that realization, she began to feel a faint, familiar burning and knotting in her stomach, realizing she may have put it off for too long.
This was bad. Very bad.
"...I accept your apology, now, you really should get to seeing to your apartment..."
Rising from the chair, albeit slightly doubling over as the burning ripped through her abdomen, hurrying into her bedroom to put on some clothes, anything old that she wouldn't mind getting torn up. Throwing on an old black tank top and shorts, she tied her hair back, after holding up a hairbrush for a few seconds and realizing the fight really wasn't worth it, especially not with the state her hair was in.
Retrieving her shoes from the living room, she tried to avoid meeting Will's eyes, almost certain that he'd say something if he saw the pain in her eyes. He'd probably try and get her to stay... which wouldn't end well for either of them. Even though he knew full well what she was, it would take a long time before she'd feel comfortable making such a transformation even near him.
Fumbling for her keys, she accidentally knocked them onto the floor, another rip of pain now going through her back as she bent down to get them, sending her to her knees with a muffled gasp. She didn't have much time left...

Leaving, yes, getting his keys. That sounded like an excellent idea. And then...To the forest, deep into the forest. He didn't want another situation such as this occurring, even if it had lead him to meet a fellow werewolf. Next time he might not be so lucky...
William watched as Peri fell to her knees, her little gasp of pain evident even from across the room. He couldn't tell if it was thanks to her hangover or...Something else, but his own transformation fears had already bubbled to the surface mere moments before, and it was these that propelled him from the armchair and to her side, even though the door lay open and ready for him to flee just a few feet away. Oh God, he hoped it was just a little trip or...
"P-peri...A-are you alright?"
He whimpered, the drop to his own kneels to be at eye level with her causing another little rush of sparks and pain to his head.

The pain apparently wasn't going to let up now, continuing to crash down on her, splintering through her back and raging up into her head, almost blinded by the white hot pain that had engulfed her. Scrambling to her feet, she swatted him away, the wolf within beginning to claw at her mind, demanding that she went to the forest, and alone.
"Just... just leave me the hell alone, okay?"
The words came out razor sharp, dripping with pain, but she didn't have time to feel much remorse, despite not meaning to snap at all. The wolf was getting impatient, they wouldn't wait much longer... Clutching the keys firmly in her hand - gripping so tight that they began to cut into her palm - she raced out the door, not even thinking to shut it behind her.
Down the steps, two at a time, sparks of pain were beginning to erupt behind her eyes, a slightly strangled growl escaping between gritted, sharpening teeth, bursting out of the foyer double doors and into the parking lot.
The forest, she had to get to the forest...

And that's where she left him; kneeling in his rumpled trousers and half buttoned shirt, tie hanging limply from one hand as he watched her stumble away down the corridor.
"P-Peri?"
He felt hurt and confused, another little puppy whimper escaping from his throat. He had only wanted to help. He didn't even know why he had wanted to help. In any other circumstance he would have been out of that door the second his could line up any string of coherent thought out of the hangover.
Usually he just wanted to keep his head down and not try to draw any attention to himself. From anyone, at all. Werewolf or human or... But he found he really did care about what poor Peri was feeling, where she was running off.
He decided, standing up carefully and using the doorway for support, that he would wander down to the reception area to find his spare key. And...if...Peri was still there... ...He wasn't quite sure...

Having to stop for a moment to clutch at her stomach as she reached the steps leading up into the complex, she stared hard at the winding road that would lead her into the safety of the trees, the tarmac blurring as her eyes began to water. It wasn't far now, she could make it as long as she didn't stop running...
Bursting into a full-on sprint, she hurtled down the long stretch of pavement, trying to ignore the agonizing popping and stretching as her hands began to mold into paws, her nails lengthening, sharpening and waxing into thick, sharp talons, even her facial structure now beginning to change.
As long as she could dive into the trees before her spine began to shift... Seeing the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel - a gap in the trees, Peri dove through the opening, immediately falling to the ground, an animal-like howl erupting from her mouth as it slowly changed and lengthened into a muzzle. She barely had enough time to strip herself of her clothing - she didn't want to have to walk back to her apartment either a wolf or naked - and buried them under a pile of leaves beneath a large tree, before her spine began to twist and mutate, forcing her onto all fours.
A few more long moments passed, and finally, the change was done. In Peri's place now was a small-ish, but strong reddish brown wolf, with glinting crimson eyes, and glimmering snake bites beneath its lips, and a scaffolding piercing through its left ear. If you'd seen Peri as a human, and knew of werewolves, it wasn't hard to put two and two together seeing her werewolf form, given the resemblances between it and her human self, but Peri could only hope and pray that she'd be left alone out here. Just for a while.
