Opening her mouth to protest, Peri was taken by surprise by his actions, numbly following his lead as he stood her up, still holding her hands in his. What was this? Perhaps not a patch on his drunken confidence, but this was a little surprising, all the same. Feeling herself blush hotly at the idea that he might even have a confident side without the aid of alcohol, she immediately frowned upon hearing his words, any trace of her previous feelings gone in an instant.
Things had been going pretty well up until now, they'd managed to... well, sort of talk about things - as best as either of them could, considering - and now he simply wanted to kick her out? She sighed a little to herself.
He really was a 'cockblock', and he didn't even know it.
"T-that's... true... I guess."
She spoke flatly, not entirely sure how to proceed without either going home, or sounding rather pushy.
"You know, you never answered my question... what I should do, well, about... us."
'Us'. Hell, that made them sound like a couple. Hopefully he wouldn't think she meant it that way, especially by the strange look that crossed over her face the moment she'd said it.

Noticing her heavy blush as he lead her into his hallway, William couldn't help but feel that strange awkward twinge again; the one that realized that Peri wasn't all loud mouth and confident stride. He didn't know why, but if unnerved him slightly.
He couldn't help himself laughing nervously at her comment; he hadn't answered it, had he? In fact he supposed he had rather hoped that bringing her inside and talking as they had done might have calmed her down...Made her forget her question...
Because to be honest...He wasn't sure himself. And...he supposed...It always helped to be honest...
"I...I-I...Well...Peri, I-I don't know.."
He managed, desperately, a familiar little whine coming to his lips. What did he want with Peri? Companionship? Friendship? the chance to know that someone else at least knew what it was like to have...That inner wolf. Or did he want something more?...

Of course. She should have known that would be the answer she'd get, since if she didn't know, chances are that he wouldn't either. To be fair, it was a particularly tricky issue... She entertained the idea of sleeping on it, but then again, she pretty much had already slept on it, so to speak, and that had just made things worse.
"Huh... I didn't think you would..."
She answered softly, almost as if talking to herself. Perhaps he was right, maybe she should just call it a night. After all, until one of them could make more sense of this, there wasn't much else to be said, other than what they'd already established. It was a difficult one, that was for certain.
Realizing that he still hadn't let go of her hands, she couldn't help but smile awkwardly, wondering whether she should let go herself - in case he'd forgotten, as you do - or wait for him. She knew full well she'd been giving off awfully mixed signals, and snatching her hands away was just going to add to that... but then again, wouldn't leaving them do the same thing? God this was confusing.

William glanced up to see her smiling awkwardly, the slight grip of her hands reminding him that he was still clasping them rather tightly in his own.
"O-oh...S-sorry!"
He let go quickly, slipping his hands into his trouser pockets instead, the blush rising across his face once more. Carefully he turned past her and pushed open his front door, gazing out at the door just along from his, where strange, brilliant Peri lived.
He fought back a little lump in this throat and told himself that he wasn't making her leave. He just needed time...to think about all this. But first;
"w-would you like...s-some help back t-to your apartment?"
It was just a few feet away, but he supposed it was the polite thing to ask.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt to push her luck just a little further...
Feigning a slight wobble - which unfortunately due to a lack of proper balance already turned into a proper wobble, nearly ending with a crash to the ground - she gripped the front of Will's dressing gown to steady herself, immediately attempting to straighten herself, looking a little embarrassed. Okay, she was still pretty drunk, despite it all... What can you do?
Feeling that pretty much spoke for itself, she nodded feebly, a small part of her whining that she didn't want him to leave, just to help her back to her apartment and stay there. For how long... Peri's mind wasn't quite up to the thought just yet, only being able to truly focus on what she wanted at that very moment.
Which, oddly enough, was Will's company. It was comforting, despite all the underlying problems. She knew that she would probably live to regret it, but even so... She just couldn't help but be saddened at the thought of spending tonight alone.

the strength of Peri's sudden grip on his dressing gown was enough to almost send him, and therefore the pair of them, stumbling back into his hallway. Grabbing onto the door frame frantically, and seeing her nod feebly at him, he felt a little flutter in his chest. Maybe he could...Find some excuse to stay for a short while in her apartment...
He was rather certain that he'd misplaced his tie in there during last night's...activities... Maybe that would be enough? Quickly he shook the idea from his head. He doubted Peri would want even more of him, after chasing and grabbing her and practically pulling her into his apartment.
He felt the blush return slightly; It had hardly been nice of him.
Gently he took her arm again and started to steer her across to her apartment door, going slow as to accommodate for her swaying walk.

Leaning on him slightly as they walked, lightly enough of course not to hinder their walk, Peri considered her options from here. Of course, there was the obvious first and foremost choice; simply leave him at the door with his thank yous and goodbyes... Or find a way to make him come in, even if only for a few minutes... Maybe for a drink? Thinking about drink, she suddenly remembered the state she'd left her apartment in, empty bottles and cans decorating every surface, Doritos littering the coffee table...
It was almost as bad as the night before. Oh, the night before.
Peri suddenly slowed to a near stop, her eyes widening with realisation. She wanted last night to happen again. Not the drunken mishaps, or the foolish games, but... Whatever happened after. Maybe that was why she felt so attached all of a sudden... She couldn't quite wrap her head around the hows or the whys, but at least she had made some sort of debt in the mound of unanswered questions in her mind.
But she couldn't exactly just blurt that out in front of him, could she?!
Realising she'd pretty much stopped dead in the corridor, she quickened her pace once more, trying not to look as awkward as she felt.

Putting her sudden stop down to maybe a drunken headache, William paused to let Peri collect herself. Hoping she was able to keep herself upright until they made it to her door; not sure if he would be able to stop himself from falling to the floor if she decided to grab hold of him again.
After a few long moments of slow shuffling, they finally approached Peri's little apartment door. A small part of William was amused to see that the tube light above them was blinking slowly, almost the same as last night. He wondered vaguely what time it was...
"w-well...H-here we are...D-do you think you can...m-manage from here?"
He asked, attempting a jovial tone, not sure if he wanted her to leave at all.

Despite their slow shuffle down the hallway, the journey seemed to last mere seconds, pausing outside her front door, just as they had done the night before. The air even felt the same, a harsh chill of an Early spring night, threatening rain in the early hours. It suddenly occurred to her that while the two of them had been trapped in the warm, silken confines of her bed, it had stormed outside, even now leaving streaks of rain on the windows. They really had been caught up in eachother's... Company.
She thought hard about his words, truly unsure of how to answer.
"I... I don't know..."
Despite saying this, she held onto his arm, nails digging in ever so slightly, almost exactly the same as she'd done the previous night; nails digging into his back to pull him closer... Two very different situations, but exactly the same message underlying.
'Stay with me.'
She didn't want him to leave. Not now...

Usually would have yelped, or at least flinched at the feel of the sharp points of Peri's strong nails gripped his arm so tightly, but now, he realized, it was actually almost comforting. Like a sharp tug from her, telling him that he certainly wouldn't be leaving so soon. Silly pup.
It sent a little shiver down his spine. He was certain that if he had a tail at this point, it would be beginning wag, fast and excitedly.
He felt a possessive power from Peri, as if she wanted to own him and never let him leave. And he wanted to stay with her. He didn't want to leave her here, standing outside of her apartment.
Answering for her, he took her arm again, properly, a little more firmly, and reached out to open her door.

Quickly digging her keys from her pocket - thanking the powers that be for letting her actually remember them in her little drunken rampage - and slipped them into the lock, giving them a quick sharp turn so that Will could open the door as he aimed to. She couldn't quite tell what he was thinking at this point, which bothered her more than she'd like to admit, but he almost seemed to have a new sense of purpose about him.
She supposed this could only be good... At least she hoped so. Allowing herself to be led inside the apartment, she winced visibly at the sore sight that was her living room, suddenly aware that her television was still blaring music at the two of them. Recognising it vaguely as Deadmau5's 'Move for Me', she couldn't help but smirk. It was both appropriate and inappropriate in so many ways...
Carefully, she removed herself from Will's grip, sheepishly finding ger remote to turn the racket down a little at least. She wanted no distractions, not now...

William couldn't help but pause in the doorway of Peri's apartment, the sudden loudness of the pumping music making the sniveling dog side of him want to flatten it's ears and shy away slightly. He quickly shook his head and stepped in after her, his eyes taking in the mess of bottles and dorito packets that now littered the apartment carpet, joining the cards and glasses of the previous night. Had she really needed all that before coming out to knock haphazardly at his door?
He spotted his tie among the wreckage, still hung unceremoniously on the back of the armchair and wondered faintly what else he'd left in Peri's apartment. and if he might ever get round to asking for it back.

Turning back to face him, Peri laced her fingers together, shuffling awkwardly in front of the crash site that was her living room, finding herself absent mindedly pushing a few cards underneath the coffee table with the tip of her foot, as if that would help the situation.
Ah well. It wasn't as if she'd been expecting company... She hadn't been expecting this at all, to be honest. The surge of confidence that had brought her to Will's door was beyond the wealth of ego that she already had in possession, and further than that was the flurry of truth that had come spilling out of her mouth. How she'd managed such honesty was beyond her, even now.
Glancing up at him, she couldn't help but wondered what he planned to do. He didn't seem to be moving to leave, and yet he still hovered awkwardly in the doorway, able to simply turn and walk out in a second.
"Um..."
She began, before realizing she had absolutely no idea what to say. It felt odd to be so... speechless. Very unlike her.
"Did you want to- I mean, do you... Are you going to..."
What a wonderful, coherent sentence that was. Shaking her head as if to try and send the rattling thoughts flying from out of her ears, she rubbed the back of her neck, before letting her shoulders drop, defeated. This was just too hard. Looking up at him once more, she simply waited, figuring that even if he didn't know what to do with himself, the atmosphere would at least spur him into doing something. Even if it was most likely run away.

William shuffled nervously from one foot to the other, still stuck in the doorway, unsure, now that he was here, what exactly he intended to do, or where he wanted this to go...
He didn't want to leave Peri, he knew that. Not here. Some small part of him worried and whimpered that doing so might cause...Something...To happen; some spell to be broken, and the pair of them to be turned back into merely nodding acquaintances, maybe not even that... And William did not want that. That was the last thing he wanted.
"e-erm...W-well I..."
The same small spark that had lead him to drop everything and chase after Peri this afternoon finally kicked him forward and into the apartment, somehow made braver by her uncertainty. Neither of them knew what they were doing but that felt...Fine...Almost. It made him walk, albeit nervously, and with no purposeful stride, to meet her in the center of her living room, hoping that this move might make her understand just where he was going.
"t-that is...i-if you want..."

Watching him with faint, suppressed wonder as he left the doorway to stand before her, she couldn't help but smile softly at his words, seeming just as incoherent in thought as her. But the fact he was here was enough. She knew enough of what he meant... It was strange how happy it made her.
"I do."
She nodded simply, tipping her head to one side, observing him for a moment with a soft, fond gaze, her previous concerns disappearing. She could clean up the living room tomorrow... It wasn't as if a room filled with Doritos, empty bottles and scattered cards was going to kill her overnight.
Reaching out gently, she stroked the side of his face with a light, almost feather-like touch, her eyes filled with warmth and anticipation, simply wondering how he'd proceed... And how far his blush would spread from her simple touch.
