you've got a lot, but you just waste all yourself... they'll forget your name soon, and won't be nobody to blame but yourself... Wow, this had been an absolutely awful day.
First, she'd woken up midday, with a terrible hangover and her two-doors-down-neighbour in her bed, having apparently lured him in with 'herbal tea', consequently trashing her apartment.
Then, she'd admitted to said neighbour that she was a werewolf, run out on him mid-change, and more than likely, scared the fuck out of him. After a mental crisis, she'd then proceeded to tell him that they couldn't be friends, and ruined the first attempt she'd had at a friendship in a while.
And lastly, she'd had a long dinner shift at work, which she was just now returning from, which had severely tested her patience. But no more. She was going to forget everything, and enjoy the rest of her evening, and the night, and the morning after that. The next day was a Sunday, meaning that she could get as raging drunk as she wanted and not have to worry about going anywhere the next day.
Entering the parking lot of her complex, she looked a bit of a sight to behold, dressed in her work uniform of a red silk cheongsam, cut an inch or two above the knee, covered with gold lotus flowers and dragons, and a pair of sensible heeled sling-backs, at least suitable enough to waitress in. But, stranger than that were the six shopping bags she had with her, each one laden with cans, bottles and two large packs of doritos, given that she was depressed, and it was buy one get one free.
Entering the foyer - and ignoring the strange looks she got from the receptionist - Peri began the slow ascent up the stairs to her apartment, a little weighed down by her bags. She was going to get absolutely hammered tonight, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

William...Was not feeling brilliant... ...No...that was definitely very much a major understatement.
Not feeling brilliant implied that he'd woken up with a runny nose and a sore throat this morning and had had to stay in bed. Not brilliant implied that he'd stubbed his toe or...sprained his ankle...or missed the bus.
Not feeling brilliant certainly did not imply standing in the middle of the apartment complex carpark, wrapped only in a hastily stolen picnic blanket, having lost his clothes thanks to an impromptu change in the woods whilst chasing his two doors down neighbor. It was only thanks to the saving grace of busy tourists that he wasn't attempting to march up to his room stark naked.
And at some point soon he as going to have to face Peri...William had a feeling that he was soon going to be feeling even less brilliant.
Taking a deep breath and trying to look as if nothing was wrong, William managed to force himself to stroll through the carpark, into the lobby and towards the stairs.

Finally reaching the second floor, Peri made her best attempts at juggling the bags and trying to dig her keys out of her handbag at the same time, very nearly dropping everything, causing a string of curses to echo down the hall.
"Stupid f**king damn bags, screw you Tescos you can go to hell with your crappy plastic bags, damn you..."
Finally deciding it would be an overall better, and safer, idea to just put all the bags down in order to get her keys and unlock the door, she carefully arranged them in a lopsided circle of alcohol 'gift baskets' around her, before rummaging through her handbag, finally pulling out her keys with a small noise of triumph. There we go, back on track for her night of raging drunkenness.
Once she'd gotten the key in the door, the only issue left was trying to pick up all the bags at once again, and then carry them in without any accidents... Easier said than done.

Managing to somehow hold a conversation with the receptionist that implied that William was not clothed as he was, and slowly becoming aware that there were several twigs and leaves sticking in his hair, William finally managed to acquire a spare key and begin his shuffled ascent up to his apartment.
Upon reaching the correct floor, William began to hear the faint, but instantly recognizable string of cursings coming from along the corridor.
...Oh Gods...right now? They were going to meet again...Right now?
William had to force himself not to whimper as he shuffled along, praying that she wouldn't turn round and notice him. The fact that he was currently lacking underwear the only thing keeping him from bolting.

Thankfully, for both herself and the modestly clothed Will, Peri had managed to haul all the bags in by the time he'd reached the second floor, slamming the door shut behind her without any clue of their near meeting.
Setting herself up on her sofa, doritos in a bowl on the table, and beginning with a large glass of straight Jack Daniels, she began her night rather calmly, watching television. Around one bag of booze in, she was onto Archers peach schnapps, the television a little louder. By the third bag, she was off the sofa, the television now turned to the music channel, chugging Carlsberg and singing along, waving her can to and fro, spilling droplets everywhere she went.
Once she reached the sixth bag, she was ready.
Taking a bottle of apple Sourz with her for support, she grabbed her keys, still dressed in her work uniform, and marched down the hall, until she reached Will's apartment, face a mask of steely, drunk determination. After a deep breath, she knocked on the door, her knocks being very clumsy and oddly timed due to how intoxicated she was.

Will could hardly contain his relief at the sight of Peri's back retreating into her apartment as he slipped past, although he was aware of a small voice at the back of his mind whining in disappointment as her door slammed shut.
Quickly, hoping she wouldn't feel the need to reappear and find him like this, he fumbled his key and slipped it into the lock, turning with a little noise of relief and hurrying into his modest apartment.
letting the mud splattered picnic blanket fall to the floor in the hallway, he pattered into the tidy kitchenette/ sitting room and hesitated before flicking the kettle on. Coffee would suit him just fine right now.
Thus sorted, he made his way into the little bathroom, showered for what must have been well over forty minutes, although could not have been long enough for Will and was just dozing on the sofa, mug in hand, when he heard several loud, disjointed knocks on his apartment door.
With a tired little moan, he managed to heave himself up and stumble towards the door, opening it a little wearily, but not expecting in the least to find who was standing on the doorstep.

As soon as she was met with the sight of her target, looking tired and not quite all there, but at the very least clean and clothed. Huh. She'd forgotten all about the fact she'd pretty much left him naked in the forest... Ah well. That wasn't what she was here for.
"You."
She growled, beginning to tip to one side slowly, but grabbing onto the door frame to keep herself upright, jabbing a finger into his chest, looking altogether rather pissed off.
"Yoooouuuuu, ya God damn little s.o.b, with your freaking suits and your cute little blushes, well, I'm not buying it anymore!"
...she wasn't buying what? Oh well, that didn't matter. Onwards with her little speech.
"You come waltzing in here, making me feel all happy and accepted with your bloody wolfman...nesssss, and I'm fawking sick of it! We can't be friends! We just... we can't! It's a law! ...I thiiinkkk."
She paused, genuinely giving this some thought. Shaking her head - and swaying a great deal as she did this - she continued on.
"Do you know how bloody hard it is to serve stupid snobby fussy bitches Chinese food when you keep having sexual flashbacks? Do you?! Well that's all your fault for last night, you.... douche... folder."
Douchefolder. That was certainly a new one. A small voice at the back of her mind reminded her that he might not have remembered that part of last night... Oh well, at least he knew now.
"It's really pissing me off! I'm trying to forget about you, and for some reason, I can't stop bloody thinking about you! GET OUT OF MY HEEEEAAAADDDD!"
She wailed the last part and began to swat at him in a flailing fashion, seeming genuinely distraught. At least she felt a little better for getting all of that out of her system.

for a few seconds, the sight of Peri, swaying and determined as she was, standing in his doorway, made William's heart flutter in a way he couldn't quite make out. For a brief, happy moment, he entertained the possible idea that she might be there to apologize and they could get on with...whatever it was they were headed.
Then she started talking, and jabbing at him, and swaying even more uncontrollably and his heart sank once more. She was drunk. In fact, now that his head had stopped feeling like a fully functioning chainsaw factory, he could smell the alcohol, mixed in with her almost familiar scent.
He tried to open his mouth to reason with her, even maybe make her see sense but- ...Douchefolder? He wasn't sure what that was exactly, but it still hurt just the same.
"P-Peri I-"
But he suddenly found himself cut off by her desperate drunken flailings, and had to step back to avoid being prodded repeatedly in the stomach by sharp nails.
He was going red again, he could feel it.

The flailings starting to draw to a close - the action actually wearing her out a little bit in her inebriated state - she let her arms drop limply by her sides, breathing out a heavy, angered sigh. Of course he'd have nothing to say, there wasn't much you could say in this situation. She'd turned up, drunk out of her mind on his door step, bombarding him with slurred statements about how she was feeling.
But, she supposed, she'd come this far, she couldn't just stop now without saying what she'd come here to say.
"It's not that I don't want to be close to you, I do! I'm just scared. You'll judge me, and find out what I'm really like and you'll abandon me just like everyone else and I can't deal with that!"
Wow, she'd really overdone it a bit with the flailing. Now using the doorframe to keep herself upright, she finally met his gaze, eyes filled with underlying emotions. Quaking nerves, fear and sadness. Even with the alcohol, this still wasn't much easier.
"I just... I don't understand these feelings and they scare the crap out of me, and I'm not sure what to do..."
Her voice softened with this statement, almost beginning to wobble towards the end with increasing sadness. As stupid as it sounded, she really did need a hug.

William felt his already soft heart begin to melt at Peri's statements. As drunk as she was, they still sounded heartfelt, sincere. He felt touched, but he couldn't help an ironic little chuckle, now that the shock Peri's flailings had died down.
"W-well t-then we would m-make an excellent p-pair to judge...I-I'm never s-sure what to do..."
He trailed off again, gazing at Peri in fascination. Where was the brash, sparky woman he had met the other night? Or the confident, if snappish and snarky wolf he had chased into the forest this afternoon?
This new Peri looked...Scared...Sad...Things William, even in the short time he had known her, had never thought he'd see her feel. And now she was saying this to him, as if honestly asking for the advice and help of a shy, stammering little bitten mutt. It was almost surreal.
Unsure of how to handle this, he took a small, hesitant step back towards her.

Finally meeting his gaze, she stayed silent for a moment as he stepped towards her, comforted a little by the softness in his eyes. At least this was going somewhat positively so far... but she was still just as lost as ever, and it was driving her insane.
Why did this, something so simple, make her so happy? Sure, she enjoyed socializing, but she'd never felt such a loss the morning after, when she knew full well she'd never see them again in this lifetime. But this... this was something else entirely.
Upon hearing his words, Peri couldn't help but chuckle a little herself, thinking about how true this was. Despite being very different people, they had a few core similarities, that made it very easy for them to become close. But even so, it could still go so very wrong. That was the nagging fear that had been in the back of Peri's mind ever since she'd woken up this morning, a voice screaming to get out now, not to get in too deep. A calming voice, a voice that claimed to be protecting her. She just didn't know anymore.
A sad, little sigh puffed from her lips, a sense of desperation filling her voice.
"W-will... what should I do? Please..."

William felt his heart snap. Just a little. She really was asking him for advice, as if expecting him to make any more sense out of what was going on than she did.
Gently, as if guided by some unseen confidence he hadn't reckoned on having, he reached over and took her hands in his, starting to softly pull her inside the apartment.
"erm...W-well y-you can start by c-coming inside"
He tried to smile as he lead her through into the little living room; all plain walls and dull but neat furniture, not a dash on Peri's own apartment across the hall.
"a-and I-I'll make you a coffee...o-or a...tea...s-sorry I don't have too much t-to offer"
It felt like some strange parody of the night before, as he let go to hurry into the little kitchen, surprised at himself.

Suddenly finding herself pulled gently inside his apartment - how odd, she could have sworn her heart just skipped a beat - she paused for a moment as he let go to move to his kitchen, looking around his apartment in subdued awe. It was all so... clean. Very plain, with not much character, but quaint. It was a nice change... Peri's apartment almost had a little too much 'character'. She needed to really clean some of that character up...
"U-um... I'll have tea... t-thank you."
Weird. It was almost like the previous night, but in reverse. She also doubted he'd spike her drink, then again, there was really no point in doing so, when she was already soaked through with alcohol.
Wandering in his living room, she glanced around for a moment before delicately settling on his sofa, almost afraid she'd dirty it just by being there.

The kettle went back on with a click as William started to busy himself making drinks- Tea for Peri, and a coffee for himself. After returning from his tiny fridge, a bottle of milk in hand, he was surprised to hear himself...humming? Well..That was new...
He felt strangely lighthearted, considering his drunk neighbor had just turned up on his doorstep, bringing a large amount of more confusion into his life. Not that he really minded, he realized as he fiddled with the milk top. In fact it felt...Nice...He was glad she was here.
He felt comfortable with Peri, despite her many eccentricities and habits. He still wasn't sure how, or why he found her presence so comforting. But he hoped she would stay, hoped she'd finally consent to him being...Something to her.
Still musing over this, he wandered back into the living room, carefully handing Peri her tea before sitting a polite distance away from her on the sofa.
In case she tried to flail again.

Taking her tea with a thankful nod, Peri sipped at it delicately, finding the warmth comforting, especially in her current fragile, intoxicated state. Glancing up at Will over her drink, she was surprised to note how jovial he seemed all of a sudden, despite sitting a rather long way away from here - leaving a whole seat empty on a three seater sofa - the atmosphere was oddly calm, lighthearted even.
"...I-I'm sorry to have dropped all this on you so... so suddenly..."
She mumbled this, still holding her mug close to her lips, as if hiding behind it. She felt oddly sobered after her little speech, perhaps by the realization that she'd just spilled her guts to something other than an empty vodka bottle.
"I owed you an explanation... I mean, after my behaviour earlier today... I just..."
She squeezed her eyes shut, grimacing. At least the swirling words in her head were beginning to calm and lessen in numbers as she spoke them.
"I'm just... confused..."
